Controversial Exhibit
Within many of our classes we've discussed the important of addressing controversial topics in history through exhibition. The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum has long been doing that very thing with their permanent exhibitions. However, they now have a traveling exhibit on Nazi propaganda. It discusses the very definition of propaganda, how it was used, and challenges visitors with engaging questions such as "when is violent language a crime?" It even has an online poll and forum for people to discuss the exhibition after they've left the museums. Currently, it is at the Field Museum and will be there until February. If you're like me and don't want to drive that way, a great deal of the exhibit information including an awesome timeline is at the USHMM website.
