1. An app that I ran across on the Internet,
and later investigate on apple store is a new app called the emergency response
and salvage. This app is available on smart phones and computers and gives an
overview on how to plan for a disaster occurring in a museum collection or archive.
This app have features that allows response teams to be formed, as well as
delegating specific tasks in the even of a natural or man mad disaster. One of
the most detrimental details of disasters is that a planning guide may not be
available. However with this new technology, all staff and volunteers can be
well equipped for such a situation. I believe this is yet another example in
which technology is helping public historians better do their jobs. This
advancement would ensure that somehow a disaster plan could be accessed no
matter the circumstance. This quick and efficient respond will result in batter
care for the collection at risk.
