1. Many museum professionals often talk
about the importance of education. This usually includes programming for local
school children. The Indianapolis Art Museum is now hosting a new program
called TAG. It incorporates hands on activities to teach the fundamentals of
art to children. My question is at what age is this time and effort of
programing beneficial? Is there a specific age that students are able to absorb
the material? I am aware that instructed are tailoring these lesions based upon
age, but it makes me wonder if holding off on these programs will free up
funding for a more beneficial expense. This isn’t to say that I don’t believe
in funding education programs. However, perhaps there should be an age at which
student being access to these limited resources.
