Why the SAA is a wonderful Resource
For those who wish to go into the archive field the Society of American Archivists is a wonderful resource. Of course everyone on this blog already knows this so I'll just give an overview of what's available. It has a free and confidential resume posting service. It also has job agents that can help locate jobs with certain criteria. It has a directory of consultants and archivist organizations. It has a glossary of common terms used in archives. It has a nationwide survey of archives as of 2004. Being a member provides several sources (journals, newsletters, etc) about the profession. It even provides a list of student chapters. One of which is located at Wright State University. (Though it's listed right at the bottom. Alphabetical or not that is just not right.)
