Web Archives in Every Day Life

The word archive has become used a lot more frequently on the internet. Just about every webcomic I know has an archive button for their users to search through. This makes access to individual pages of the comic much easier than having to flip through every single one. With the vast amounts of information being put on even one site this does make a bit of sense. In the definition of the word these places truly are archives though their preservation practices may leave much to be desired. There are sites for every piece of web information and some of them are very devoted to preserving works.





It will be interesting to see what remains of these sites in ten years time and if they really will be able to preserve outdated works.
